Fall colors made for a beautiful backdrop Saturday as Lassen Land and Trails Trust held their annual Rails to Trails Festival at the historic depot and visitor’s center on Richmond Road in Susanville.
The celebration featured handcar races, a chili cook-off, a salsa competition and live music.
The members of the Lassen Historical Society portrayed notable historic figures and retold the story of the railroad coming to town in 1913.
