It was a somber event Friday morning as local law enforcement agencies, first responders and the public joined Lassen Family Services at the Susanville Police Department to hold a special wreath laying ceremony honoring the memory of Deputy Larry Griffith, Officer Robert McElrath and all law enforcement personnel who put their lives on the line to protect victims of crime and to end domestic violence in our community.

Speakers included LFS Executive Director Melissa Downing, Lassen County Sheriff Dean Growdon and Susanville Police Chief Tom Downing.

Pastor Rick Conrad gave the Invocation and Benediction and Heather Roney made closing remarks.

The ceremony is one of the events Lassen Family Services is holding in October to raise awareness during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Pastor Rick Conrad gave both the Invocation and Benediction at Friday’s ceremony.
