Mark your calendars for a memorable day filled with western tradition and youth achievement! The Lassen County Sheriff’s Posse will be hosting their annual Junior Fun Day, on Sunday, April 26th. This cherished event, promising great prizes, coveted belt buckles, and lasting memories, will be held at the Lassen County Fair Rodeo Grounds in Susanville.
The day promises a packed schedule, kicking off with registration opening at 9:00 and the first events starting promptly at 10:00a.m.
Designed to be a fun-filled day for everyone, the event features a diverse array of categories for participants ranging in age from one year old all the way to eighteen years old.
Young competitors will have the chance to showcase their skills in traditional rodeo events like Run, Ride, Lead, Barrels, Pole Bending and Steer Dobbing. There’s also fun to be had with the Boot Race and the classic Goat Un-decorating and Tying.
Older youth can test their mettle in Steer Riding.
Beyond the excitement of the competition, attending this event supports a great cause, with all proceeds dedicated towards the Sheriff’s Posse Scholarship Fund, helping to empower the next generation. Tickets will be available for purchase at the event, offering a chance to win a fantastic $500 prize valid for any business in Lassen County.
Come hungry and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the Lassen Sheriff’s Posse, available on-site. Participants are encouraged to invite friends and make a day of it.
For those planning to compete, registration forms are available now and can be picked up at Susanville Western Nevada Supply. Completed forms can also be filled out and submitted on the morning of the event at the Rodeo Grounds.
