Getting Ready for the Most Exciting Week of the Year!

prefair2 — Volunteers started hanging pieces in the art building on Wednesday.

The Lassen County Fairgrounds is a beehive of activity this week as fair staff, volunteers and judges all make preparations for this year’s fair.

The fair will kick off next Tuesday night with the annual 4H Barbecue at 5:00 and Smackdown Bullriding at 7:00.

prefair1 — This bright red vintage auto is one of the nifty displays in the Art building at this year’s fair.

prefair3 — Mike and Kathy Justice have decorated the fairgrounds with incredible flowers and plants.

prefair4 — Hanging baskets of flowers line all of the main thoroughfares at the fairgrounds.

prefair5 — In Jensen Hall exhibits from local organizations are being prepared.

prefair9 — Amazing and unusual arts and crafts will be exhibited in Jensen Hall. During the fair there will be classes in how to create these intricate carvings.

prefair10 — Arts and crafts from talented folks all over Lassen County are being put into displays in Jensen Hall.

prefair11 — Tasty jams and jellies!

prefair12 — Tatting, a traditional American art, will not only be on display in Jensen Hall but classes in tatting will be scheduled throughout the fair.
