The Lassen National Forest’s Hat Creek Ranger District has announced the closure of several small campgrounds due to low use.
The Big Pine Campground, Honn Campground and Rocky Campground all were closed for the season on Monday.
The remaining campgrounds; Bridge Campground, Cave Campground and Hat Creek Campground will close for the season on Monday, October 14th.
“As we come to the end of the summer season, we will be closing campgrounds whose use has declined significantly. There continues to be other options available on the District and Forest,” explains Deb Bumpus, Forest Supervisor.
The campgrounds are expected to reopen by the end of April 2020. For more information about these and other recreation opportunities in the Hat Creek District, please call (530) 258-5162.
