The Hat Creek Ranger District of the Lassen National Forest is seeking volunteer campground hosts for the 2019 camping season. This is an excellent opportunity to spend time in a beautiful location and meet fellow travelers. The Hat Creek Campground and the Old Station Visitor’s Center are the locations in need of hosts.
The recreation season begins in late April and extends through early to mid-October, as conditions allow.
As volunteer campground Host, you will consent to spend the negotiated time in a National Forest campground in the Hat Creek District. The responsibilities of the host include addressing questions, providing information about the local area, posting reservation information, and cleaning and maintaining the campground. They serve as the point of contact for identifying problems when Forest Service employees are not present.
Hosts must have a self-contained RV or trailer and a personal vehicle for transportation (tents are not acceptable). Both locations have full hookups.
“This is the perfect time to get more engaged with your beautiful National Forest by volunteering,” said Chris Christofferson, Acting Forest Supervisor, Lassen N.F.
We are also accepting applications for part-time or fill-in hosting positions throughout the recreation area. For more information and an application, please contact Tami Taylor, NEPA Planner, or Christeen Taylor, Support Services Supervisor, at 530-336-5521.
