High Desert State Prison Warden Fred Foulk recently presented a check for $1,200 to Lassen Community College President Dr. Marlon Hall for the Special Athletes and Activities Club.

The donation is from the HDSP Charitable Fund, which is generated through inmate fundraisers throughout the year.

The Lassen College SAAC is a program committed to the equality for all individuals with or without special needs so that they can benefit from physical and social activities.

The vision of the club is to create an environment on the Lassen Community College campus and within the general public of diversity and awareness of individuals with special needs. The donation will be used to assist the athletes and the organization with uniforms and travel expenses associated with attending Special Olympics events.
