On July 5th, our community suffered a significant loss when the beloved grandstand at Memorial Ballpark, a place holding 78-years of cherished baseball memories, were destroyed by fire. While the structure was owned by the City of Susanville, it was also the home of Cougar Baseball and a symbol of our shared community spirit.
Lassen College Head Baseball Coach Frank Avilla shared, “Insurance will help rebuild the basics, but there’s more we can do – together.”
That’s why Lassen College Athletics is partnering with the community to raise funds through the Lassen College Foundation.
According to Avilla, these contributions will go beyond basic repairs, supporting enhancements, commemorative elements, and ballpark improvements that will honor the field’s legacy and elevate the experience for future generations.
“We are not fundraising for something we own – we’re investing in something we all share.”
The Lassen College Baseball program has set a goal of $100,000 and has already raised $9,185. You can help bring this community hub back to life by donating to their GoFundMe at this link.
