There are 30-million children in the United States whose parents will have to make the tough choice between school supplies, groceries, the electric bill or insurance. The Salvation Army sets children up for success in a variety of ways, through after-school programs and extracurriculars, but also by providing children in need with school supplies that will help them start the year off right.
On August 3rd, between 8:30a.m. and 6:30p.m., at Walmart, the Salvation Army will be collecting school supplies for local children.
It’s easy to help! As you do your back to school shopping at Walmart the Salvation Army will provide you with a list of supplies they need, and you can shop and drop off your donation at the storefront bins.
All donations will be distributed to families in the Susanville community so that more kids will enter the school-year ready to succeed.
Items contributed will help provide a backpack filled with school supplies for each child.
For those unable to make it to the store, there is a searchable online registry with all the items needed; each item requires just one click to purchase. Click here to head over to Walmart.com
With your help, The Salvation Army of Susanville will be able to provide school supplies to kids in need in our community.
