Henry (Enrico) Armetta – June 11, 2022

Henry (Enrico) Armetta passed away on June 11, 2022, in McKinney, TX at the age of 96 years.

Henry was born in New York, NY in 1926 to Paul (Paolo) and Josephine (Giuseppina) Armetta. The youngest brother of seven siblings – Rosalie, John, Salvatore, Virginia, Bartholomew, and Frances. The Armetta children were first general Sicilian-Americans, and their parents were descendants of Palermo, Italy.

One of the most life shaping experiences happened to Henry when he was 18 years old, after enlisting in the military to serve in World War II. Directly after, he was in a car accident which resulted in him breaking both of his legs. Because of Henry’s spirit of perseverance and positive attitude, this accident served to fuel his passion for health, athleticism, and maximizing the potential of his body. He was a runner, bodybuilder and diver, and worked out at the gym all the way up to his late 80s.

In his early years, Henry lived in New York, and spent time in Hollywood, CA with his uncle and namesake Henry Armetta (the 1940s actor), before moving to Miami, FL. In his later years, he moved back to CA, where he met his wife Susan, and they built their dream log cabin home in Susanville, CA.

Henry was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, son, brother, and uncle.

He was a proud and loving husband to his wife Susan for 34 years.

Father to Paul, Hank, Ross, Stacey, and stepfather to Kathy, Sam and Scott.

Grandfather (Papa) to Krystal, Claire, Milo, Ben, Danny, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Christopher, Nick & Tim.

Great-grandfather to Adam, Alina, Laura, Vincenzo, and Logan.

Henry had a full career in the furniture business, piano refinishing, sales, commercial & residential real estate, and real estate development – including the Meadow Brook apartment complex in Susanville, CA.

His passions included Jesus Christ, his family, exercise, nature, painting, archery, fencing, diving, woodwork, all things Pinocchio, and care of his animals, including – horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, and his wildlife friends the birds and deer on his property.

Henry was a strong, kind, loving, protective, and honest man, with a deep faith in The Lord.

A key wisdom from Henry was that helping others was actually our privilege.

He was an extraordinary man, Who was a pillar of strength, champion of a positive spirit, and hero to his family, and those whose lives he touched.

Henry passed with his daughter Stacey by his side in the Dallas, TX area, realizing his final dream to be with the cowboys, before he made his way to heaven…

Henry’s funeral Mass will be held on June 27, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco, TX, after which he will be laid to rest at Ridgeview West Memorial Park in Frisco, TX.
