Honey Lake TV Frequency Changes To Cause Brief Signal Disruption

Because of the recent sale of upper broadcast television frequencies to T-Mobile by the Federal government, Honey Lake TV is being required to lower its broadcast frequencies to below 600 mhz.

After many months of engineering, FCC license applications and equipment procurement, HLTV spokesperson Jim Pecore said that the last step is the actual frequency changes.

These changes will take place on or about October 20th, at the Shaffer Mountain facility and prior to October 20th for HLTV’s Black Mountain site.

According to Pecore disruptions of signals may be an hour or more due to the installation of new broadcast equipment at the transmitter sites.

“Honey Lake TV realizes our customers rely on over the air TV for their news and entertainment, so our engineers will make every attempt to make the changes in a timely manner.”

After the new equipment installation, some channels may not immediately appear on your television. A simple re-scan of your TV should recover the missing channels. The channel numbers will not change on your TV set.

Customers are not required to change anything with their antenna system as the new, lower frequencies, are still in the UHF spectrum.

“Honey Lake TV would like to thank everyone in advance for their understanding and patience during this change.”
