Ilene Marie Converse
4/29/1951 – 6/27/2025
Ilene Converse 74, passed away surrounded by her loving family in her home that she
beautifully curated in Susanville CA. Born in San Jose, CA. She lived a life full of love and
family. Ilene is survived by her husband of 53 years Derry Converse, and her children Deana Smith, Dakota Converse, Lori Porter and Carrie Williams along with her son in-law Casie Williams and 6 grandchildren, sisters Mary, Vicki, Julie and brothers Michael and Mark. She is preceded in death by her parents Michael and Constance Bardo, her sisters Marcy Coscarelli and Debrah Toland.
Ilene was a devoted mother and Nana living in Susanville. She successfully ran Converse
Plumbing as an owner, became a vocational nurse in 1996, owned and operated Dance
Country RV and Mobile Home park in Mt. Shasta. Her passions included gardening, projects of all sorts(that involved skillfully \operating a bobcat) supporting her children and grandchildren in all activities of their choice. Snow and water skiing, camping and family time. She sewed, knitted and crocheted as a hobby and could paint and wallpaper like a pro. Known for her warmth and hospitality she loved hosting family and friends and was a
wonderful cook.
A funeral service will be held on July 19th at 11:00am at the Community Church of Susanville followed by a grave site burial at Diamond Crest Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Converse Ranch.
