Jim Ferando, Western Region President for Banner Health, has announced that Barbara Minick will serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer at Banner Lassen Medical Center.
Minick replaces Liz Woodyard, current Chief Executive Officer, who will be leaving Banner Lassen June 24th to join Petersburg Medical Center in Petersburg, Alaska, as its new CEO.
“I want to thank Liz for her dedication to Banner Lassen for the past 2 ½ years and the previous 10 years at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital,” Ferando said.
“I know this was a difficult decision for her, but the new opportunity provides her family with career options and a chance to return to their beloved Alaska. We will miss Liz’s contributions to our organization and extend best wishes in her future endeavors.”
Minick who currently serves as the Associate Administrator for Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City, Ariz., will arrive at Banner Lassen on June 20th. She began her career with Sun Health in 2002 as the Corporate Director of Strategic Planning, moved to Boswell Hospital to work as the Strategic Business Consultant for the CEO and then as Vice President of Business Operations in 2006.
“Barbara is a respected executive leader at Banner and has extensive healthcare experience,” Ferando explained. “I am confident that Barbara will provide leadership and stability to Banner Lassen as we undertake the search for a new CEO.”
Minick holds bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Design and Business Administration, master’s degrees in Speech Language Pathology and Business Administration, and is a non-practicing attorney.
Ferando said a search for a permanent CEO has begun and the position will be filled as quickly as possible.
