Over the summer and into the start of the new school year, Janesville School has been hard at work transforming its playground into a vibrant and engaging space designed to inspire creativity, foster play, and promote student enjoyment. The playground improvements include a variety of exciting new features:
Drum Circle: This interactive musical area allows students to express themselves rhythmically, encouraging collaboration and creativity.
Colorful Stencil Art: Eye-catching designs now adorn the playground, adding a burst of color and whimsy to the outdoor space.
Freshly Paved Asphalt: The playground surfaces have been repaved, providing a smooth, safe area for play and activity.
Permanent Concrete Cornhole Boards: Two new sets of concrete cornhole boards have been installed on the upper playground. These have quickly become a favorite for the older students, offering a fun and active way to build teamwork and enjoy outdoor play.
These enhancements are part of the school’s commitment to creating an enriching environment where students can explore, learn, and grow—both inside and outside the classroom. The updated playground reflects a modern approach to education, where play is recognized as an essential part of student development.
“We’re thrilled to see how these improvements have energized our students,” said Jamie Lewis, Janesville Superintendent/Principal. “The drum circle and stencil art, in particular, have sparked so much creativity, while the newly paved surfaces ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable place to play.”
These changes are just one of the many ways the school is working to enhance the student experience.
