Just before school got out for the summer, the Lassen County Office of Education’s Communications Specialist, Kaitlyn Midgely visited Janesville School to celebrate the close of a successful school year and an impressive academic achievement.

Earlier this year, the school issued a bold challenge to its students – read a combined total of 90 million words by the end of the year. Not only did students rise to the challenge, but they surpassed it, reading an astounding 92.2 million words schoolwide.
