Jerrie Lee Mock
Jerrie left us (at the age of 69) on Thursday October 23rd 2014 at her home in Susanville, following her battle with brain cancer. Jerrie was born in Susanville California on June 12th 1945. Jerrie was a resident of Lassen County for the majority of her life. Jerrie also lived in Fairbanks Alaska in the late 1960s and 70’s, and in Modoc County during the 1990’s. Jerrie was a graduate of Lassen Union High School and attended The University of Nevada Reno. Jerrie was an accountant and secretary in Lassen County and in Alaska with a freight company working on the Alaska pipeline. Jerrie dedicated many hours as a 4H instructor.
Jerrie was also a world class housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Jerrie loved spending time with family, and friends, and fishing. She also enjoyed hunting, camping, boating, quilting, knitting, cooking, baking, ceramics, and gardening, winning uncountable first place awards for cooking, baking, vegetables and art displays in both the Lassen and Modoc County Fairs.
Jerrie was preceded in death by her mother Mary Alice Sherman (Faulkner), father Phillip Nelson, stepfather Hayden Frederick “Fred” Sherman, daughter Shawna Hunt, and brother Roger Sherman. Jerrie is survived by her loving husband of 39 years Joe Mock. Her children (and fiances) George Hunt (Lori Forbes) of Dayton, NV, Cindy Farmanian (Jack Winn) of Manteca, CA, and Chris Mock (Jennifer May) of Susanville, CA, her 6 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 2 great granddaughters, and many cousins nieces, nephews, and friends.
All that have known Jerrie have been truly blessed, and will never forget the impact she has had on their lives. May God bless her with an eternity of well stocked lakes, rivers and streams. God has blessed us with us having her in our lives.
