JH Heating Weather Alert – NWS High Wind Warning

Good morning everybody, here is a quick update on weather conditions including a High Wind Warning that has been posted for our area.

A High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 am PST Wednesday.

* Timing: winds will increase during this morning and remain strong through this afternoon. Another period of strong winds is expected late tonight through early Wednesday morning.

* Winds: southwest winds 20 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph. Wind gusts up to 75 mph in wind prone locations along Highway 395 and in the Surprise Valley.

* Impacts: motorists in high profile vehicles can expect hazardous driving conditions with cross winds especially along Highway 395 in eastern Lassen County.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

Damage to trees… power lines and property is possible with winds of this magnitude.

Travel will become hazardous especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution and remain alert for sudden gusts or cross winds.
