JH Heating Weather: NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Bulletin

This hazardous weather outlook is for the eastern Sierra… Northeast California and Western Nevada.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms can be expected this afternoon and evening…mainly south of highway 50. Very heavy rainfall is possible with the stronger thunderstorms.

As a result flash flooding is a concern…mainly in Mono, Mineral and southern Lyon counties. The Bison fire burn scar is included in a flash flood watch for these areas.

Showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast through Saturday and will spread to all of western Nevada…eastern Sierra and northeast California. Some storms may be severe and produce strong outflow winds as well as locally heavy rainfall.
