NWS Fire Weather Watch for July 8th
A Fire Weather Watch will be in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening for dry thunderstorms with strong outflow winds for Northeast California and far northwest Nevada.
Forecasters are calling for scattered thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms will be mainly of the dry variety producing limited precipitation and gusty winds.
Outflow winds near the base of the storm are expected to gust at about 40 to 50 mph.
Fire officials are worried that lightning may create new fire starts and combine with strong outflow winds to produce rapid fire growth.
