The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning in effect from noon today to 3:00a.m. Monday for thunderstorms and strong outflow winds for the Lake Tahoe basin northward to Lassen County…
According to this morning’s Red flag alert, dry thunderstorms will develop around the Tahoe basin by mid-afternoon and spread north into Plumas and Lassen counties by late afternoon.
Very strong and erratic wind gusts to 60 mph or more are possible near thunderstorms.
Officials fear that lightning may create new fire starts and combine with strong outflow winds to produce rapid fire growth.
