The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 10:56 AM PDT on May 20, 2015
…Localized moderate rain and small hail through this evening…
Showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue developing and lifting north across western Nevada and eastern California through the rest of the afternoon and evening hours.
While no strong thunderstorms are expected… a few storms could produce brief moderate rain and small hail. Ponding of water will be possible on area roads as well as gusty outflow winds around 35 mph are possible.
In the higher elevations, generally above 7500 feet, accumulating snow and small hail are possible. Due to warm ground and road temperatures little accumulation is expected. After sunset snow could accumulate on grassy surfaces… but the road temperatures should remain warm enough to prevent accumulations.
