The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect through 4:00p.m. Tuesday
According to the National Weather Service’s office in Reno snow will develop tonight and continue through late Tuesday afternoon.
Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches west of Highway 395 are expected… with 1 to 3 inches east of Highway 395.
Winds will be out of the southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
The snow will produce slick driving conditions along Highway 395 and travel over Sierra passes may become difficult.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
Snow is expected to pose an inconvenience to travelers. Roads will become slick and hazardous… with snow and ice first developing on bridges and overpasses. Motorists should slow down and use caution.
