The National Weather Service is predicting record breaking temperatures and the possibility of thunderstorms this weekend.
According to today’s update from NOAA high pressure will remain over northeast California and northern Nevada throughout the weekend. This means we can expect record high temperatures and isolated thunderstorms in the higher elevations.
By the end of the weekend low pressure will begin to move onshore from the Pacific giving us a better chance of thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday.
Here in Lassen County temperatures will increase into the 90’s today and tomorrow. Further east, into Nevada highs will reach triple digits.
The National Weather Service reminds us that there are inherent risks that come with the heat, be careful out there.
