City of Susanville – Honey Lake Community Pool: Assistant Pool Manager
The City of Susanville is accepting applications for the Honey Lake Valley Community Pool for the position of Assistant Pool Manager.
Under the general supervision of the Pool Manager, the Assistant Pool Manager is responsible for managing the operation of the swimming pool and staff including lifeguards and swim instructors.
This part-time position is compensated between $20.83 – $23.57 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all supervisory functions of Pool Manager when in direct charge of the pool;
- Coordinates and conducts maintenance of the pool and facility;
- Assists Pool Manager in training, supervising and evaluating pool workers including lifeguards, swim instructors and cashier;
- Assists in scheduling all pool workers, maintaining timesheets and hourly records and evaluations of all pool workers;
- Assists in collecting, counting, and recording pool receipts, locker money and lesson, program and events
- Assists in monitoring activities and provide instructions to prevent accidents;
- Responds appropriately to swimmers in danger of drowning and to all illness and injury accidents around the entire facility immediately. This includes, but is not limited to, performing Lifeguarding skills, First Aid, CPR, and other until arrival of emergency medical services;
- Assists in recording and organizing accurate records concerning attendance, accident/incident/injury reports, chlorine readings and schedules;
- Maintain a clean, safe and orderly facility;
- Promote programming and memberships;
- Set up and cleanup of the facility daily;
- Enforce all facility rules, policies and procedures;
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in aquatics and supervision of other employees.
- Continual certification and knowledge in using, handling and storing chlorine.
- Red Cross Advanced First Aid / CPR / AED Training or ability to possess upon hire
