SALARY
$17.58 – $23.10 per hour, plus benefits

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Buildings and Grounds Worker will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in facility and grounds
maintenance and provide technical support to assigned operation.

The major duties of the job include:
• Inspect park grounds, structures, and related facilities for safety, appearance and vandalism and pest infestations.
• Clean and clear grounds, structures and fields of debris and hazardous conditions.
• Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, and plants; clear sites of weeds and rid sites of pests.
• Operate light grounds maintenance equipment as well as a variety of hand and power tools, forklifts and tractors.
• Handle complaints and answer questions from the public.
• Perform general painting, plumbing and carpentry work.
• Make minor adjustments on service equipment; maintain tools and equipment in working order.
• Maintain logs of daily activities.
• Assist in other areas of public works in emergency.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Experience: Two years of experience performing parks, grounds or facility maintenance duties.
License: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Class B driver’s license
Possession of, or ability obtain, a Qualified Applicators Certificate may be required by the position.
