Lassen Family Services: XD Housing Coordinator
Position:
Full-time. Work hours may be variable and outside of the normal (8:00am – 5:00pm) workday to meet the requirements of the position.

Job Description: Under the general supervision of the Direct Services Manager, provides oversight on the services, operations, and functions of the Lassen Family Services’ Housing First Program. The XD Housing Coordinator is responsible for leading agency-wide efforts in finding safe, stable, and permanent housing for survivors of intimate partner violence, provides crisis intervention, domestic and sexual violence education, peer counseling, resource, referral, and support services to survivors of violence in a Trauma-Informed care and advocacy-based counseling model. Provide information and outreach that will include educating landlords, apartment managers, and property managers/owners on the issues surrounding violence. Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to, monitoring, and evaluating performance and assisting with hiring, training, and monitoring of staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities May Include:
- Plans, develops, and coordinates the functions, operations, and services of the Housing Grant including the development of intakes, applications, and spreadsheets, to ensure proper documentation of services.
- Identifies opportunities for permanent housing for intimate partner survivors in the community.
- Provides advocacy and mediates communication between participants and landlords, apartment managers, and property managers to establish safe and permanent housing.
- Performs outreach and education to landlords, apartment managers, and property managers through in-person meetings and community networking.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with a network of professional contacts in the property management and real estate industry to establish expedited access to housing opportunities to victims.
- Maintains, records, and prepares reports.
- Develops intakes and surveys for program management.
- Maintains an awareness of changes in community processes that may impact services and provides recommendations to deal with these changes.
- Assists in the improvement of the housing process for survivors, participates in the housing search, and eligibility and approval process.
- Assists survivors in navigating community resources and job opportunities to further their goals for safe, permanent housing and to achieve independence.
- Performs supervisory duties including hiring, training, and monitoring staff, conducting performance evaluations, and participating in employee discipline.
- Ensures files are kept to the required standard in compliance with grant goals and objectives and LFS policies and procedures.
- Conducts administrative analysis and studies to evaluate effectiveness, define problem areas, set standards, and develop recommendations for solutions.
- Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to service delivery for victims of violence.
- Provides direct services to victims of abuse, including the assessment of participant needs through individual counseling and/or crisis intervention, advocacy and the development of case management plans that address immediate and long-term needs, and accompaniment/referrals to community and out of area agencies.
- Meeting with clients where they are at including in-home visits.
- Attends conferences and workshops related to domestic and sexual violence, networks with other service providers, and maintains positive relationships with community agencies.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings.
- Assists in developing a positive, proactive, motivated team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Training/Experience/Education: At least two years’ experience in providing domestic violence peer counseling services and meet the requirements of a domestic violence counselor pursuant to Evidence Code 1037.1(a)(1). Any combination of training, experience, and education which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be completion of Lassen Family Services’, Inc. Crisis Intervention Peer Counselor training.

Sits for extended periods; frequently stands, walks, stoops, kneels and crouches to pick-up and or move objects, and lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in a variety of environments including the Shelter, Lassen Family Services, LFS Transitional Housing Units, client homes, and other community organizations; requires frequent driving to different locations and sites throughout the service area; frequent contact and communication with other staff, the public, shelter residents and representatives of other agencies; work hours may be variable and outside the normal 8 am to 5 pm workday to meet the requirements of the position; incumbents are expected to be available on stand-by for crisis intervention responses at any time during specifically assigned time periods.
Special Requirements:
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and insurance with acceptable DMV Record.
- Acceptable State, CACI, and FBI criminal background check.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, CPR certification.
- Successful completion of Crisis Intervention Peer Counselor training.
