Due to the insufficiency of candidates for the November 8th, 2022, governing board election, the Johnstonville Elementary School District voted at its September 8, 2022 meeting to call for a provisional appointment to fill two vacated seats.
Community members wishing to be considered for a provisional appointment must:
- Be a resident of the Johnstonville Elementary School District.
- Submit a Johnstonville Elementary School District application and a letter of interest, including a statement of why you are interested in serving on the Johnstonville Elementary School District Board to: Johnstonville Elementary School District, 704-795 Bangham Lane, Susanville, California, 96130. Letters must be submitted to the Susanville School District Office no later than 4:00 p.m. on November 18, 2022.
Application and letters from candidates meeting the above qualifications will be reviewed by the Johnstonville Elementary School District Board of Trustees. The Board may fill the vacancy at their December 8, 2022 meeting.
Unless a petition calling for a special election, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed in the Lassen County Office of Education within 30 days following a provisional appointment, the appointment shall become effective. The appointee shall hold office until the next regularly-scheduled board member election, which will be in November 2024.
