Judith Smith-Swayze
Judith Smith-Swayze, long-time Susanville resident. Born January 1st, 1953, Died September 7th, 2021.
Judy Smith-Swayze, whether you were her friend or a family member, no one doubted they were cared about and for by her. Her faith gave her the strength to endure any situation that beset her, especially through the health challenges she faced daily for years and bolstered her to care about and for anyone that came in her path along life’s way. She was a loving daughter who cared tirelessly for her mother with the passing of her father decades earlier.
Judy was a warm, kind, welcoming person to those with whom she came in contact. Her home was a place of hospitality for many people through the years who benefitted from her naturally sharing nature that provided a moment’s respite. Her attitude was one of finding the silver lining in a dark cloud situation for herself or another person expressing outright hope as she had for herself when the second diagnosis came earlier this year.
She will be missed beyond comprehension for the lives inside and outside of her extended family to whom she extended kindness in the form of a greeting, an invitation, an unexpected expression of generosity, whether in spirit or sharing from what she felt she had been blessed with and was called upon to share.
Judy believed to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. May she find rest eternally as we miss her here on earth.
