LaMalfa Announces Winner for Congressional Art Competition

The winner of this year’s Congressional Art Competition for California’s 1st District, “I am Columbia” by Isabella McMurry.

Congressman Doug LaMalfa congratulated Isabella McMurry Wednesday for winning this year’s Congressional High School Art Competition representing California’s 1st Congressional District.

Her piece, titled “I am Columbia” will be displayed in the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. for one year. Isabella attends Inspire School of Arts and Sciences in Chico, California.

“Congratulations to Isabella for winning this year’s Congressional Art Competition, and thank you to the many talented high school students who participated,” LaMalfa said.

“My office received many deserving submissions, but Isabella’s artwork, I am Columbia, perfectly represents out theme, America the Beautiful. I look forward to seeing it displayed in the U.S. Capitol for all to admire.”

Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California’s First Congressional District, which includes Lassen County, along with Butte, Glenn, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
