Join the Local Area Revitalization Project Co-op and Bitterbrush Farm & Apiary for the second of their 2025 Fall Workshops this Saturday, September 27th, from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m.
This free workshop, titled “Introduction to Beekeeping,” is perfect for anyone interested in learning about honey bees and the art of beekeeping. The workshop will be led by Bailey and Flagan Watkins of Bitterbrush Farm & Apiary and will include a live beekeeping demonstration.
During the workshop, you’ll learn strategies for getting started with your own honey bee colony, and get an overview of the annual colony cycle.
They’ll also cover hive maintenance practices, sharing lessons from the pros on nutrition, insect health, pests, and the environment.
Plus, you’ll get a hands-on harvest demo, so you can see for yourself how to harvest a honey frame.
The event will be held at the Lassen County Fairgrounds in the Beef Barn. A liability waiver will be required to participate in the live demonstration and can be completed on-site.
