Lassen 4H’ers Invite Prospective Members to Annual Open House September 21st

PrintLassen County 4H’ers will be welcoming prospective new members at their annual Open House on September 21st, at the Tractor Supply Store on Main Street in Susanville from 5:00 to 6:00.

Project, animal and educational displays will be featured from eight different Lassen County 4H clubs. Root beer floats will be served to all guests.

Rabbits, poultry, cavies, goats, quilts, sewing items, photography, art work, educational displays and more will be shown to give prospective 4H’ers a chance to see what amazing things can be done as part of the group.

New enrollments for Lassen 4H begin September 1st, giving youth aged 5 to 19 a chance to participate in hands-on learning experiences.

The 4H Program is an educational youth program conducted by the University of California Cooperative Extension. The purpose of 4-H is to help young people discover and develop their potential and grow into competent, contributing and caring citizens.

Learn-by-doing activities, youth-adult partnerships, and research-based educational programs help young people enhance their leadership abilities and develop a wide range of other life skills including responsibility, community service, citizenship and critical thinking.

4H allows members to explore things like shooting sports, photography, cooking, quilting, art leadership, gardening, animal projects and more.

For more information about the 4H Open House, or 4H membership, contact Darcy Hanson, 4-H Program Representative, at 251-8285 or email her at [email protected].
