Lassen Board of Education Welcomes New and Re-Elected Board Members

The Lassen County Office of Education has officially welcomed its re-elected and newly-elected Board members, who were sworn-in during the December Lassen County Board of Education meeting.

LCOE Communications Specialist Kaitlyn Midgley provides us with a short introduction to the board:

Re-Elected Members

“Bruce Davie and Patty Hagata were re-elected to represent Trustee Area 1, which includes the Susanville School District. Their extensive experience and ongoing commitment to enhancing education in the region ensure continued leadership in meeting the needs of students and educators.

“Rob Erickson was re-elected to represent Trustee Area 3, which encompasses the Big Valley Joint Unified School District. Erickson’s dedication to advocating for rural education remains a cornerstone of his service.”

Newly-Elected Member

“Dean Growdon was elected to represent Trustee Area 5, serving the Janesville, Johnstonville and Richmond Elementary School Districts. Growdon brings fresh perspectives and a passion for fostering collaboration and innovation in local education.”

Lassen County Superintendent of Schools, Patricia Gunderson, said, “We are excited to continue working with our re-elected members and to welcome Dean Growdon to the Board. Their diverse skills and unwavering dedication will guide us as we strive to provide quality educational opportunities for all students in Lassen County.”

The Lassen County Board of Education plays a vital role in shaping educational policies and ensuring that all students have access to high-quality learning environments. With a mix of experienced and new leadership, the Board is prepared to address challenges and seize opportunities to advance education across the county.
