The Lassen Claybreakers started their competitive season with a bang this past Saturday, traveling to Yerington, Nevada, to compete at the Mason Valley Trap Club’s 1st Series Trapshoot.
After months of dedicated training and focused practice, the team’s hard work clearly paid off as they returned home with an impressive haul of six medals.
The day was highlighted by some fantastic performances across all divisions. In the Intermediate Advanced category, Tabitha Root secured a decisive 1st place finish with a score of 94, followed closely by teammate Caden Martin, who brought home the 2nd place medal with a score of 90.
The Intermediate Entry division saw Robert Muller take the top spot with a 1st place finish and 89 points. It was also a nail-biter for Clayton Moore, who showed great composure to earn 67 points and 3rd place after a tense double shoot-off against a competitor from another team.
The competition remained fierce in the Varsity division, where Lassen’s own Seth Matchniff and Jack Robinson battled it out in a final shoot-off after each scored 96 points. Ultimately, Matchniff claimed 2nd place, with Robinson taking home the 3rd place honors.
Congratulations to all our shooters on a fantastic start to the season!
