Lassen Community College Nursing and Allied Health Occupations has announced that its popular Medical Assistant program is returning, starting with the Summer 2026 term. This comprehensive three-semester program offers a clear and structured pathway for students looking to enter the healthcare field as a Certified Medical Assistant.
By combining core knowledge, administrative skills, and hands-on clinical training, the college provides a well-rounded education that prepares graduates for the demands of modern medical environments.
The journey begins on May 27th with the first semester focusing on the Medical Assisting Core (HO70). This initial summer session runs through August 13th, with classes held every Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 6:50p.m.
As students transition into the Fall 2026 semester, the focus shifts to the administrative side of the profession. The HO71 Medical Assisting Administrative course will also meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays, though with an earlier schedule from 12:00 to 4:25p.m.
The program concludes in the Spring 2027 semester with the HO72 Medical Assisting Clinical course. While these final classes will remain on Wednesdays and Thursdays, the specific times will be determined at a later date. Because all three courses are required to earn the final certification, students are encouraged to plan for the full three-semester commitment starting this May.
