The Lassen College Cougars are back on the court! The 2026 home season officially tipped off last night, January 7th, with an exciting home opener against the College of the Siskiyous. Both the Men’s and Women’s teams took to the hardwood to defend their home turf, setting the stage for what promises to be an action-packed couple of months at the LCC gym.
The LCC Women lost to Siskiyous 78 to 57 last night and the men’s team beat Siskiyous 62 to 51.
If you missed last night’s opener, don’t worry—there is plenty of basketball left to play. The Cougars have a slate of home games scheduled through February, perfect for local sports fans looking to support our collegiate athletes.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming matchups. The Women’s team plays the first game of the doubleheader, followed immediately by the Men’s team.

Special Event: 3-point shooting competition - February 7 vs. Butte: Women at 1:00 PM | Men at 3:00 PM

Calling All Lassen Hoops Players!
Lassen College is rolling out the orange carpet for the next generation of athletes. There is Free Admission for all youth basketball players in grades 3 through 8.
To get in free, kids just need to wear their LASSEN HOOPS jersey to the games. Not only do they get to watch the college action for free, but they can also get in on the fun!
Half-Time Competitions: These will take place during both Men’s and Women’s games for grades 3-8 (boys and girls).
Prizes: Participants will be drawn by lottery and prizes will be issued to the lucky winners.
So grab your jerseys, bring the family, and come cheer on our Cougars as they battle it out in the Golden Valley Conference.
