Lassen Lit Rocks holds free adult reading classes every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday’s classes are held at the Lassen Library and Thursday’s classes are held at Shaffer School. For more information please call the library at 530-257-7471.

Knights of Columbus Wednesday Night Bingo. 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., dinner, 6:30 pm early bird bingo, 7:00 p.m., regular bingo games. Westwood Bingo is every Thursday night at 125 Birch St., in Westwood. $10 per ten pack of cards, $1 Quickie games and $1 Early Bird Game.

The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Mixer will from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., at Lassen Association of Realtors 1740 Main St. This mixer is hosted by Lassen Association of Realtors, Singleton/Auman CPA, & Edward Jones/Brack Green.

Saturday, August 19
Lassen Senior Services will be hosting their third annual barbecue fundraiser at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. The cook-off will feature slow-cooked and smoked meats in four with prizes for tastiest meats awarded by expert judges! Everyone who attends the barbecue will get a chance to vote for a special ‘people’s choice’ award. Along with some great cooking, you can also enjoy live entertainment and the fairgrounds will be filled with vendors and their unique crafts. The cook-off starts at 11:00 a.m., and you can stop by and grab something to eat all day long.

Flip Flop Sunday at Memorial Park. There will be a live Sunday Service at 10:00 am followed by a picnic in the park, with fun, games and music. Bring your own chair and a picnic lunch for a day of fun and fellowship. This is a free public event. Bring the whole family and invite all your friends. 10:00 – 2:00 pm.
