Lassen County Behavioral Health is inviting all community members to participate in a series of stakeholder meetings beginning this week to help shape the future of local mental health and substance use services.
These sessions are a critical part of the county’s Community Planning Process, which is currently developing a comprehensive three-year plan to guide local priorities through 2029.
The meetings focus on the Behavioral Health Services Act, a major statewide reform that expands the scope of the former Mental Health Services Act. This new legislation significantly increases the focus on substance use disorder treatment, expanded housing supports and stronger workforce development.
By attending these meetings, residents have a direct hand in determining how resources are allocated for crisis response, early intervention and support for vulnerable populations.
“These meetings are part of our Behavioral Health Services Act planning process and are a great opportunity for community members to share input on local needs and priorities,” said Andik Hidayat, Program Manager (Prevention) at Lassen County Behavioral Health.
Upcoming Meeting Schedule
The first of the remaining meetings takes place today, February 26th, at 1:30p.m. in Big Valley at the Bieber Veterans Memorial Building. Following this, the community planning process moves to Susanville on March 3rd, with two sessions held at the Monticola Clubhouse at both 2:00 and 5:30p.m.
The final scheduled meeting will be held in Herlong on March 5th at 6:30p.m. at the Skedaddle Inn.
To encourage broad participation, Lassen County Behavioral Health will provide light refreshments at each event. Additionally, attendees who complete a community survey will be entered for a chance to win a gift card. The department is also committed to making these meetings accessible to everyone; residents who need a ride to an event or require a Spanish-speaking interpreter are encouraged to call the office in advance to make arrangements.
While walk-ins are welcome, residents are encouraged to register in advance by visiting the online registration form. For more information or to request assistance with transportation or translation, please contact Andik Hidayat at 1.530.251.8108.
