Hello, Spring! After having to postpone this event for the past two years, we are ready to bring to you our 14th annual Spring Show, Saturday, April 30th from 10:00 until 3:00p.m., at Lassen County Fairgrounds.

If your business fits into the category of Home, Garden, Recreation or Wedding Vendor, we welcome you. Applications can be found on our website at www.lassencountychamber.org or at the Chamber office 1516 Main Street in Susanville. For more information call 1.530.257.4323.

Mark your calendar for the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce April Chamber Mixer, Thursday, April 21st from 5:30 – 7:30p.m., at High Sierra Collision and Towing. We hope to see you all there for food, drinks and fun!

Lassen Public Health is sponsoring a Health Week Art contest. Grab your art supplies and get ready for some fun. Entries for the contest must be submitted to Public Health by 5:00p.m., on April 1st. The contest is open to all Lassen County children and youth eighteen and under. Pick up a coloring sheet from school or on their website, or create your own original artwork on what you think public health is. Your art entry must include the entrant’s name, age, school, email, and phone number and can be sent to [email protected].

Lassen County Arts Council is now offering its Spring Art Classes. They will be offering a Portrait Drawing class Saturday, April 16th, 23rd, and 30th from 1:00 – 3:00p.m., for a small cost of $60 with the opportunity to purchase materials. For more information contact 530.257.5222.

Lassen Lightning presents their Spring Fling to be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 5:00 – 10:00p.m., located at Sentimental Journey. This event will include live entertainment, dinner, and photos. $40 for a couple and $10 for each additional guest. For more information or to purchase tickets, call Angela Cisneros 559.805.2044.

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt brought to you by the Lassen County Fair and SusanvilleStuff will be held Saturday, April 16th at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. All Lassen County kids are welcome to come hunt for Easter Eggs. The gates open at 8:30a.m. and groups start at 9:00a.m., with different age groups starting every 10 minutes. Each age group has a chance to find the ‘Gold Egg’ to be turned in for an Easter Basket filled with assorted goodies and prizes. There will be an additional egg hunt section this year for kids with special capabilities. The Easter Bunny will be at the fairgrounds so bring your cameras for a photo opportunity.

Keep CCC Open Golf Tournament, hosted by Susanville Soroptimist at Diamond Mountain Golf Club will be Saturday, April 16th, with signups due no later than April 10th. $100 per player in a 4 Man Scramble, 8:00a.m. registration and 9:00a.m. shotgun start; Pulled Pork lunch provided, no host bar and a silent auction. All proceeds will be donated to the City of Susanville by Soroptimist for court costs. Sign up at Axia Home Loans or Diamond Mountain Golf Club.

Lassen Family Services is partnering with the All-American Mixed Martial Arts Academy to host a free self-defense class. This class will take place on Saturday, April 9th from 2:00 – 4:00p.m., located at 55 S. Sacramento St. in Susanville. The class is open to everyone ages 12 and up. There is limited capacity, so be sure to register at lfsselfdefense.eventbrite.com. For more information, please contact 530.257.4599.

Applications for Lassen County Farm Bureau scholarships and American Ag Credit are now available. These scholarships will be awarded to deserving high school or college students who are pursuing a career in agriculture or agri-business. Students can obtain applications on the FaceBook page Lassen County Farm Bureau, by contacting their school counselors or call the Lassen County Farm Bureau office at 530.257.7242. The application deadline is March 25, 2022.

Application for Lassen County Cattlewomen and Cattlemen are now available. Open to both males and females, two (2) scholarships will be available, Cattlewomen Agriculture Scholarship and Cattlewomen Memorial Scholarship. Students must be enrolled or enrolling full time in an Agriculture-related course of study, be a Lassen County resident for at least one year, and meet a minimum of 2.5 GPA. For a full description of requirements and to obtain an application, call 702.286.6581. The application deadline is April 1, 2022.

Applications for Lassen Association of Realtors Scholarships are now available. This year LAR will be offering three $1000 scholarships. Students must be in their senior year attending a high school within Lassen County. For more information, call 1.530.257.5220. The application deadline is April 15th, 2022.

Scholarship Applications for Lassen Fastpitch and Lassen Lightning Softball are now available. This year Lassen Fastpitch and Lassen Lightning Softball will be offering a primary scholarship in the amount of $1000 and a secondary scholarship in the amount of $500. Students must be high school seniors who have played a minimum of two years in the local Lassen Youth Fastpitch Softball League; Must be a senior at Lassen High School; Plan to attend an accredited College, University, or Trade School. Applications for Sierra Desert Properties are now available. This year Sierra Desert Properties will be offering one scholarship in the amount of $500 to a deserving Lassen County senior. For more information, call 530.250.7146. The application deadline is April 22, 2022.

Applications for Pheasants Forever Jake Trussell Memorial Scholarship are now available. This year the Northeastern California Chapter 443 of Pheasants Forever is offering two (2) scholarships in 2022 to deserving Lassen County seniors. Preference will be given to students who plan to major in Wildlife Biology. For more information, call 530.310.1366. The application deadline is April 22, 2022.

Applications for LMUD Scholarships are now available. LMUD is offering two $1,250 scholarships for high school seniors and one $500 scholarship for returning college students, in a program designed to enhance the education and resulting careers of deserving local students. Applications can be accessed on their website or for more information contact, 1.530.257.4174. Application deadline is April 29th, 2022.
