Best of Broadway’s 2022 production brings to you, the concert series, Home Again. Mark your calendar for eight performances in the first two weeks of March. Tickets are $15 each and are available at Margie’s Book Nook, Zaengle’s Floor and Home, and the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce.
There will be a fundraiser on Sunday, March 13th, from 9:00a.m. until 3:00p.m., to help support the Loflin Family and help spread Breast Cancer Awareness. This fundraiser will include a full day of events, featuring a corn hole tournament, workout classes, craft fair, raffle, kids club and lunch. Susanville Sunrise Rotary presents its Annual Youth Instrumental Music Contest, Tuesday, March 15th at 6:00p.m., located at Lassen High School Music Room. This is for students, grades 9-12; there will be two qualifying contents and then the finals, all with prize money; three local monetary prize winners will be chosen. Performance time will be 3 minutes minimum to 8 minutes maximum, you must also bring 4 copies of your music for the judges. Rotary Club of Susanville presents their 2021-2022 Club and District Speech Contest, to be held, Wednesday, March 16th at 6:00p.m., located at Lassen High School Board Room. This is for students, grades 9-12 with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes. This year’s theme: ‘Share with us a time that you have served others and how were lives impacted, including your own.’ Entry deadline is Wednesday, March 9th. Lassen Humane Society will be offering a drive thru Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner for $16 per plate from 5:00 to 7:00p.m., at the Susanville Senior Center, 1700 Sunkist Drive in Susanville. All proceeds to benefit Lassen Humane Society. For more information, leave a message at 1.530.257.4555.
Join Soroptimist International of Susanville with a St. Patrick’s Day Party to benefit #fightforccc. The Shenanigans Shindig will be held at Jensen Hall, Lassen County Fairgrounds, Friday, March 18th from 7:00 to 10:00p.m. This event will include live music by the band ‘Timeless”, Pot of Gold Wheel, Couples Leprechaun Contest, Leprechaun Limbo, Silent Auction, Drinks and Snacks! CASA has rescheduled their movie night: ‘Smallfoot’, Saturday, March 26th starting at 5:00p.m., at Community Church. ‘Smallfoot’ is a family friendly movie that “takes place high in the Himalayan mountains, where a community of yetis lives according to rules literally set into ancient stones.” The event entry and snacks are by donation. Applications for Lassen County Farm Bureau scholarships and American Ag Credit are now available. These scholarships will be awarded to deserving high school or college students who are pursuing a career in agriculture or agri-business. Students can obtain applications on the FaceBook page Lassen County Farm Bureau, by contacting their school counselors or call the Lassen County Farm Bureau office at (530) 257-7242. The application deadline is March 25, 2022.
Applications for Lassen Association of Realtors Scholarships are now available. This year LAR will be offering three $1000 scholarships. Students must be in their senior year attending a high school within Lassen County. For more information, call 1.530.257.5220. The application deadline is April 15th, 2022.
Scholarship Applications for Lassen Fastpitch and Lassen Lightning Softball are now available. This year Lassen Fastpitch and Lassen Lightning Softball will be offering primary scholarship in the amount of $1000 and a secondary scholarship in the amount of $500. Students must be high school seniors who have played a minimum of two years in the local Lassen Youth Fastpitch Softball League; Must be a senior at Lassen High School; Plan to attend an accredited College, University, or Trade School. Applications for LMUD Scholarships are now available. LMUD is offering two $1,250 scholarships for high school seniors and one $500 scholarship for returning college students, in a program designed to enhance the education and resulting careers of deserving local students. Bottle and Brush Art Bar is working tirelessly to finish their remodel and open its doors again. With a re-open date still to be determined, they are hoping for SOON.
