Mark your calendar as Sierra Desert Properties hosts the October Chamber Mixer, Thursday, October 20th from 5:30 – 7:30p.m., located at 613 Main Street in Uptown Susanville. Live music by ‘Timeless’ and a baked potato bar along with a no-host bar. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors for an evening of fun; everyone is welcome, you do not need to be a Chamber member to attend. Join Lassen County Chamber of Commerce for an Open House Ribbon Cutting with Eagle Lake Village, Wednesday, October 19th from 2:00 – 6:00p.m. Come meet the new owners, visit a health and community service vendor fair, enjoy a free BBQ, good company, and maybe a few surprises! 2001 Paul Bunyan Road in Susanville.

Reno Dance Company and Susanville Best of Broadway will be bringing back the Nutcracker. Auditions will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall, Wednesday, October 19th from 3:30 – 6:30p.m., varying times by age. No dance experience is necessary and no cost to participate. Lassen Youth Football League presents For the Love of Cheer. Let’s send the cheerleaders off to competition, special performances by Spirit Elite, Janesville Cheerleaders, and Lassen High Cheerleaders. Saturday, October 22nd from 6:00 – 8:00p.m, at Lassen High School. Adults are $5, Kids 5+ $3, and Kids 5 and under are Free. Are you ready for Halloween? Susanville Best of Broadway, brings to you, Frightmare at the Fair. October 27th thru 31st at the Lassen County Fairgrounds from 6:00 – 10:00p.m., offering a ‘NO’ Scare option from 6:00 – 7:00p.m., each day. Pre-Sale tickets are available for $8-$10 at Margie’s Book Nook, Forest Office Equipment, and Lassen County Chamber of Commerce.

Every Bloomin Thing and Gift Shoppe will be holding a Harvest Succulent Centerpiece Workshop, Friday, October 28th from 5:30 – 7:30p.m. Create a magical art piece for your harvest table! These stunning pumpkins are adorned with a range of colors and textures including succulents, dried/silk flowers, berries, pinecones, and moss. The Susanville Symphony 2022-2023 Concert Series brings to you An Evening of Jazz, Friday, October 28th, and Saturday, October 29th at 7:00p.m., at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall. Sentimental Journey’s 2nd Annual Craft Fair in the Barn will be held Saturday, October 29th from 10:00 – 4:00p.m., and Sunday, October 30th from 10:00 – 3:00p.m., located at 465-320 Church Street in Janesville. This event will have New Vendors, one of a kind items, Halloween, Fall, Christmas, Food and Gifts.

Historic Uptown Susanville Association hosts its annual Safe and Sane Halloween, Monday, October 31st from 3:30 – 5:30p.m. Live entertainment, dance performances, pet costume contest, children’s costume contest, and loads of candy! Susanville Best of Broadway is holding auditions for their 2023 concert series, ‘Decades of Dreamers’. Auditions are open to all ages 6+ and all genders and skill levels; come prepared to sing a chorus of a song of your choice and allow an hour and a half for the audition process. Audition dates are October 30 from 10:00 – 2:00p.m., or November 6th from 12:00 – 4:00p.m., located at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall. For more information, visit

Susanville Sunrise Rotary presents its 19th Annual Beer and Wine Tasting at Jensen Hall, Saturday, November 19th. Tickets are $35 per person which includes delicious appetizers and a commemorative glass; also offering a silent auction, no need to be present to win.
