Make plans to join us as Best Western Plus Trailside Inn & Lumberjacks Restaurant team up to co- host the Thursday, February 20th Chamber Mixer, from 5:30 to 7:30pm. The mixer will be held in Lumberjacks Restaurant, located next to Best Western Plus Trailside Inn, 2785 Main Street in Susanville. You do not need to be a Chamber member to attend; everyone is welcomed to stop by to mingle with friends and business associates and meet the new owners and management team of each business.
The Chamber elected Rod Chambers, President/CEO of Sierra Broadcasting, to fill the board vacancy. Along with his many years of business experience, Rod has been an active member of a variety of community organizations including the Susanville Rotary Club, Salvation Army, and was a member of the Lassen County Drug and Alcohol Board. Please join us in welcoming him to the board.
The 8th Annual Spring Home, Garden, and Outdoor Recreation Show is being planned for Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. The committee is already hard at work planning for another outstanding event. Mark your calendar and welcome the coming spring season by attending or participating in this year’s show. Be sure that the Chamber’s visitor lobby has an adequate supply of your business cards and brochures on hand to promote your business throughout the year. This is a free marketing service that is available to all Chamber members. Many brochures and business cards have been depleted and are in need of restocking.
The Chamber has partnered with Spring Hill Press to produce an updated Lassen County area map. The map is the one of the most requested item received at the Chamber. Members are being given the first opportunity to advertise. Spring Hill Press representatives have begun contacting members to discuss various ad sizes and prices available. In addition, a link will be added to the Chamber website with an online map that will display your advertising, contact information, link to your website, and business location on the online map. Contact the Chamber office at 257-4323 if you have any questions regarding the map project.
The Chamber office has tickets available for the Susanville Elk’s Annual Crab Feed. The event will be held on Friday, February 28th and Saturday, March 1st. The crab feed will begin at 6pm each night with a no-host cocktail social hour, dinner will begin at 7pm. The menu will include crab, prawns, clam chowder, toss salad, and garlic bread.
