The Chamber is pleased to announce that Tim Watts, Manager of Frontier Communications, was selected at the September board meeting as the newest member of the board of directors. Please join us as we welcome him aboard.

Mark your calendar to attend the Annual Rails-to-Trails Festival that is planned for Saturday, October 12, from 12 to 4pm. The centennial celebration will include handcar races, chili cook-off, salsa contest, kids’ activities, live music, and food and drinks. The Bizz Johnson Marathon, which is a Boston qualifier, will be held on the weekend of October 12 and 13. Runs include an express half marathon, 10K and 50K. For more information about the Bizz Johnson Marathon, or to register, log on to coastaltrailrun.com.

The Chamber 125th Anniversary Celebration Committee, chaired by Theresa Phillips, would like to thank Joanie and Frankie’s Cupcakes, Susanville Subways, Happy Garden, Sierra Cascade Nursery, Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer, Diamond Mountain Casino, Pizza Factory, Susanville Super Market, One Fine Day Catering, and Artisan Coffee for their contributions to the “Taste of Lassen County” buffet.

The Celebration Committee would also like to thank Susanvillestuff.com, the Lassen Historical Society, Tony Jonas, Jim Chapman, the Lassen Historical Museum, and local historian Tim Purdy for helping to gather historical information to highlight this celebration. We would also like to thank everyone who attended and helped us celebrate this milestone.
