There have been changes to labor laws that will take effect for the coming year. The Chamber will be ordering 2014 Labor Law posters which feature the required federal and state notices on one poster. They will be available to Chamber members for $25.00 or/ non-member for $35.00 per poster. California businesses are required to post updated employment posters at each place of business. Pre-orders are now being taken; contact us at 257-4323 if you would like to have a poster ordered for your business.
The Annual Veteran Day Parade will be held on Monday, November 11, beginning at 11am. If your organization or business would like to participate in this year’s parade, applications are available at the Chamber office or Susanville Veteran’s Memorial Building. The parade entry form must be returned by Friday, November 8. For more information contact the Chamber office at 257-4323 or the Veteran’s Representative at 260-5285.
The Chamber board of directors is accepting applications to fill four board vacancies. The three year board terms will begin in January 2014. Chamber members interested in representing the business community and sharing their time and talents by serving on the board are encouraged to apply. The Board is seeking candidates who have business experience, community involvement, and the desire to represent the interests of the local business community. Stop by the Chamber office or call 257-4323 to receive an application to apply for the vacancies. Applications must be return by Monday, December 9, 2013.
