In the wake of the passing of Congressman Doug LaMalfa, the Lassen County Board of Supervisors and County Administrative Officer Maurice L. Anderson have issued a formal letter of condolence and tribute, recognizing the representative’s decades of influence on Northern California.
The statement, signed by CAO Anderson, paints a portrait of a steadfast advocate who deeply understood the nuances of rural governance and the agricultural way of life.
“Lassen County joins communities across Northern California in recognizing the decades of public service and leadership demonstrated by Congressman Doug LaMalfa,” the letter reads, noting his tenure spanning more than twenty years.
The County’s tribute specifically highlights LaMalfa’s legislative focus on issues vital to the region’s survival, including the protection of agricultural heritage and water resources.
