
Calling all Lassen County students! It is time to dust off those paintbrushes, fire up the Bunsen burners and polish your prose. The Lassen County Student Showcase: Art & Academic Excellence is coming to the Lassen County Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 2nd, in conjunction with the Lassen County Office of Education’s annual Children’s Fair.
Running from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., this event offers a platform for local students to display their creativity, innovation and hard work to the community. Whether you are an aspiring artist, a budding scientist or a master of the woodshop, there is a place for your project in the spotlight.
Showcase Categories
Participation is open to all students across the county. Projects can be entered in a wide variety of categories, including:
- Art Projects
- Creative Writing & Poetry
- History Projects
- Science Projects
- Teacher’s Choice
- Vocational Education
- Woodworking
Special Class Project: “Celebrating America”
In honor of the upcoming national milestone, this year’s Fair Theme is “Celebrating America – 250 Years of Red, White, and You.” Classes are encouraged to collaborate on an art-based project that reflects this patriotic theme.
Please note that these entries must be submitted by a school staff member under the school and grade name. Only one entry per class is permitted, and premiums for this category are paid directly to the school.
How to Participate
The event is sponsored by the Lassen County Fairgrounds and the Lassen County Office of Education, organizations dedicated to supporting students for the future.
