Lassen Crime Stoppers has issued a special bulletin and authorized a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for the 2014 murder of Janesville veterinarian Dr. Richard Meinert.
The local organization, which facilitates anonymous tips to aid law enforcement, is urging the public to come forward with any details that could further the ongoing investigation into the beloved veterinarian’s death.
On June 23rd, 2014, Dr. Meinert was discovered deceased at his veterinary office, Thompson Peak Veterinary Clinic, in Janesville. His death was subsequently determined to be a homicide.
While investigators report having made significant progress in the years since the crime, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking specific information to close the case.
Authorities are specifically asking to hear from anyone who may have had contact with – or provided a ride to – an individual or individuals in the Janesville area on the night of June 22nd, 2014.
“Anyone with information that may assist in this investigation is encouraged to contact Secret Witness or Lassen County Crime Stoppers,” the bulletin states.
Lassen Crime Stoppers emphasizes that tips may be submitted completely anonymously. If your information leads to an arrest or furthers the investigation, you may be eligible for the cash reward.
