Lassen Family Services’ Walk-A-Mile Comes to Memorial Park Saturday

Lassen Family Service’s 13th annual Walk-A-Mile event, a mile-long color walk to support survivors of sexual assault and child abuse, will be held tomorrow, April 11th in Susanville’s Memorial Park.

LFS hosts the event annually during Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Awareness month to make the community aware of the prevalence of these crimes and to provide information on the support services offered in Lassen County.

Speakers scheduled for the morning’s opening ceremony include LFS Board President Andy Beck, CASA Director Jennie Hoffman, Susanville Mayor Mendy Schuster and Trina Fitzgerald, Deputy Director and Coordinator of The Mending Basket Wellness Resource Center from ITCC.

Activities will be held in the park from 10:00a.m., until 2:00p.m. It’s free for everyone to participate in the one-mile walk, with a big confetti finish!

Along with the local impact speakers, there will be more than 40 resource booths, craft and food vendors like Get Roasted Coffee and Grill, Blue Ox Bistro and the Untamed Cowgirl.

For questions about the event please contact Rhonda Fuller at 1.530.257.5459.
