Lassen Forest Dedicating New Penny Pines Plantation April 26th

forestserviceupdateIn conjunction with Arbor Day, the Lassen National Forest will be dedicating a new Penny Pines plantation at the Hat Creek Rim Overlook on April 26th and everyone is invited to come take part in the ceremony.

The new plantation is in the footprint of the Sugarloaf Fire, started by lightning in August 2009. Trees have been planted at this new Penny Pines site thanks to contributions from generous donors, many of whom have had trees planted in memory of loved ones.

The public is invited to the dedication of this new site, which will take place starting at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 26th, at the Hat Creek Rim Overlook, located off Highway 44, three miles east of the junction of Highways 89 and 44 near Old Station.

For more information, please call Linda Tiffin at the Lassen National Forest Headquarters at 530-257-2151 or contact her via email at [email protected].
