Lassen High Student News – Brought to You by Sno Mountain Chalet

Grizzly Football

On Friday, October 31st, Lassen’s Varsity Football team won their game against the Yreka Miners by a score of 41 to 10. The team is now 7-2 overall and 4-0 in league play. The Grizzlies are the Northern Athletic League champions for the second year in a row.

Lassen’s Junior Varsity team beat Yreka 56 to 0. The Freshman Grizzlies lost 36-0.

This Friday, November 7th, the Grizzlies will take on Central Valley High School, at Central Valley. Gametime for Varsity is 7:30p.m.

Interested in joining a Supportive Wellness Group? Students who would like to participate in a confidential and supportive small group focused on health, stress and coping are invited to sign up for the ‘My Healthy Futures: Nicotine and Cannabis Group’. The group will meet after school for two 1-hour sessions hosted by social worker Krystle Hollandsworth, Meeting dates will be in mid-November. If you are interested, please complete the short interest form in the Counseling office.

Boys soccer open field is every Tuesday from 3:30 to 5:30 at Riverside Park. Tryouts will be November 10th, 11th and 12th at Riverside Park from 3:30 until 5:30p.m.

Girls Soccer Open Field every Wednesday and Friday from 3:30 to 5:00 at Riverside Park until tryouts on November 10th through the 12th.

If you are joining the wrestling team you will need to stop by the nursing office, during nutrition or lunch and pick up a parent permission form. Coach Moore will have them also. This must be signed in order to have your body composition test done.

Lassen had six swimmers qualify for league. They are: Tegan Gard, Tessa Gard, Shealeigh Butterbach, Peighton Butterbach, Cal Peterson and Kristian Johnson. Tegan Gard, Tessa Gard Peighton Butterbach and Shealeigh Butterbach qualified for the Masters.

Fundraising – Lassen FBLA is selling Breast Cancer Awareness shirts for $20. All proceeds will be going to Northern California Cancer Advocates.
