The 2013 Lassen Land and Trails Trust Cabin Fever Relief Event was a hit with several dozen adventurers taking on either a challenging 13-mile cross-country ski trip to Butte Lake or a 3-4 mile snow shoe hike at Susanville Ranch Park on Saturday January 26th.

Following the ski trip, the group returned to the trust’s historic Susanville railroad depot where they joined others for an array of homemade soups donated by some really great local cooks. According to Louise S. Jensen, Executive Director of Lassen Land and Trails Trust credit for the Cabin Fever Relief’s success goes to the event chair, Kelly Fairbank, and to the ski and snow shoe leaders, Phil Finkel and Mike Rivas, respectively.

Cabin Fever Relief 2013 was a winter fundraiser to support the Trust’s on-going work to develop, enhance and promote our region’s trails. While the skiing and snow shoe hikes are free, donations from this year’s dinner and silent auction raised just over $1,200. The Trust, as part of its work to provide opportunities for those who live in Lassen County, encourages the public to get out and experience our wealth of natural resources and trails.

“The group hosts this annual winter day of discovery and thanks the community for its continued support, ” said Jensen.
